This summer Westfield Shopping Centers around Tampa Bay are hosting a Family Summer series!
This is a great way to get out of the heat and play inside for the day! It’s something different and new to make fun summer time memories! Plus you go home with some goodies! 🙂
I took the girls to meet Bob the Builder at the June event a couple weeks ago. Continue reading below to see what to expect at one of Westfield Family Summer Series events!
Going into the event I didn’t know what to expect and honestly thought there’d be some coloring sheets and a huge line to meet and take a picture with Bob the Builder. Kind of like what happens with the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.
That wasn’t the case at all and I was very pleasantly surprised with all the excitement and activities going on. Since June’s event was with Bob the Builder, they partnered with Lowe’s and had all things centered around construction, building, and tools.
Thanks to the blog and the Westfield family I was able to treat the girls to a VIP Meet & Greet with Bob the Builder before the event started. I think he was a lot larger than they had imagined him to be because Penelope didn’t want to get near him. She kept her distance and waved. Sophia took pictures, talked, and played with Bob’s gigantic cell phone.
Since Penelope didn’t enjoy the “live” version of Bob, we ventured over to another photo opp area with a cardboard cutout, which was much more up to Penelope’s speed.
Lowe’s had an area for the kids to make birdhouses (with real wood and nails) equipped with their own aprons and building kits. With some help, Sophia made a birdhouse!
With a few minutes to spare before Bob the Builder made his official appearance on the big stage we staked out our spots in front of the stage (with the stroller) and went to the Lego section to build some cool stuff…like a teeny tiny house. They had all different types of construction toys out on tables to play with.
Finally, Bob the builder took to the stage and put on quite the performance with songs, dancing and audience interactions. The girl’s loved it and I loved seeing all the kids singing and participating in the act.
I was interested to see how the girls would react to Bob The Builder, seeing how they’ve rarely seen his show and he’s more of a “boys” cartoon. The event had something for everyone and the girls had a great time! And all day long we were singing the Bob the Builder song…”Yes we Can!”
We can’t wait for the next two series left this summer! Eddie & Sofie from Little People will be hanging out on July 6th – 8th. Then Barbie (my girl’s are dying for this one!) on August 3rd -5th!
P.S. Join me and the rest of the Tampa Bay Bloggers on Twitter June 21st at noon for #TampaBayTuesday featuring Westfield Mall!
XOXO
Thanks to the Westfield family I was able to attend this event with my family. Although I received compensation for this blog post and other socials media love, as always, all opinions are my own.
