Spring Travel Destinations for Families

Springtime is here and the weather is getting more enjoyable (in most parts of the world), flowers are starting to pop back up, and it’s a perfect time to squeeze in a vacation with the family. If you’re looking for a spot to relax, unwind, or have some fun family adventures these next few months, these are my favorite options to do just that!

1. US Virgin Islands

Trunk Bay, US Virgin Islands

Everything you want from the Caribbean, without needing a passport! We stayed at The Ritz in St.Thomas and highly recommend it. They offer a great kid’s pool and kid’s club, plus Lady Lindsey sails from right outside the resort. Another great resort option is the Marriottt Frenchman’s Cove. Snorkeling with sea turtles in crystal clear waters in St.John, home to Virgin Islands National Park was our trip highlight. Don’t forget to visit Magen’s Bay Beach!

2. Costa Rica

Pura Vida! This has been on my list for a while now and I was so close to booking it this year. Ultimately I want to wait until my youngest is a little older. I’d like all my kids to enjoy the things Costa Rica has to offer like surfing lessons and nighttime hiking in the lush jungle! The Four Seasons has an amazing property in Costa Rica and it’s everything you would expect from the luxury brand. Marriott offers an amazing all-inclusive resort at their The Westin Reserva Conchal.

3. Grand Cayman

Our 2024 destination! I’ve been to Grand Cayman on a cruise ship before, but as you know cruise ships dump you in the most touristy parts of the island and you only have a few hours to explore. We plan to do all the things, including horseback riding on the beach, visiting the Turtle Cayman Centre, snorkeling with the Stingrays at StingRay City, and eating at beachfront restaurants every day!

4. Bahamas

Bahamas - Top Spring Travel Destinations

A yearly destination for a lot of my friends, the Bahamas has been growing! It used to be all about The Atlantis, but with the addition of Baha Mar and Four Seasons Ocean Club, you have way better options now. Swimming with the pigs is a must do and one of the biggest attractions at the moment!

5. Las Vegas

Las Vegas is definitely an adult playground, but there are also SO many shows, attractions, and activities for kids to do. Many of the resorts offer several pools that aren’t adult-only. Some kid friendly shows include the Tournament of Kings , Cirque Du Soleil, and the Jabbawockeez at the MGM.  Adventuredome at Circus Circus is an indoor amusement park and Mandalay Bay has an aquarium! You can’t go to Vegas without taking a limo ride to the famous sign.

6. San Diego, CA

La Jolla Cove, San Diego, California

San Diego is one of my favorite cities in California for family friendly adventures. The San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the country and the surrounding beach towns are so unique! La Jolla is a must do with seal watching at the tide pools or cross the bridge and stay at the iconic Victorian Hotel on Coronado Beach.

7. Grand Canyon, AZ

The Grand Canyon is a bucket list trip and temperatures are near perfect for hiking during March and April. You also miss the summer crowds that tend to gather here. Make this trip the grandest by booking a Train tour, becoming a Junior Ranger, and eating ice cream at the Blue Angel Lodge with spectacular views, and riding a mule (ages 9+) through one of the greatest wonders of the world!

8. Riviera Maya, Mexico

I cannot express how much fun we had visiting Riviera Maya last year. My kids were at the perfect age to truly revel in all the Nickelodeon Resort has to offer and XCaret is an amazing adventure waiting to be explored. We got slimed, swam through bat caves, spent hours at the private water park, enjoyed a spectacular show every night, and swam with dolphins.
