Grab your oversized beach tote and sunglasses, cue the kids’ swim goggles, and let me tell you about our dream escape at the spanking-new 18-acre beachfront property, The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort in Florida.

If you’re juggling shoes, snacks, Pilates, and school schedules, you need a break like this. The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort brought the luxe, the whimsical, and the family fun in perfect harmony. I got mom-glow back, the kids brimmed with stories (“Mom, the ray touched me!”), and bragging about pressing the champagne button for me. What more could we ask for?

Book yourselves a suite, slap on some SPF, and let that champagne cork soar. It’s time for the Florida getaway we earned right here near Tampa!

Aesthetic Goals: Pretty in Pink

The moment we stepped into that pale-pink-hued lobby, decked out in blush accents, soft gold fixtures, and lush tropical greenery, I was like “okay, someone call my interior decorator, we need this vibe.” The resort leans into that chic, playful aesthetic without ever feeling like a theme park. It’s sophisticated but fresh, just like yogurt bowls on a Sunday morning.

Suites That Feel Like Home

We booked one of their grand suites for our party of six. This included massive living spaces with wraparound balconies overlooking the Gulf. We had a mini kitchen, large dining table, and my favorite part, a 2nd bathroom!

Under‑the‑Sea Lagoon

The kids practically sprinted down to the 500,000‑gallon saltwater lagoon where you can actually swim with stingrays and tropical fish, guided by marine biologists who fed them and taught us about reef ecosystems. I got to watch them squeal as rays glided past their toes. (Me? I hovered, cheering them on.)

Lazy River & Pools

The resort pool area (aka “The Pools”) includes a winding lazy river, multiple family pools, and an adults-only grotto with jacuzzi jets. Crazy for me to think I was ever going to see that adult-only side during this spring break adventure. But it’s there! Next time.

Kid-Friendly Beachside Fun

Between lagoon swims, our kids were all about the beach-based crafts like bath bomb making, shell bracelet sessions, even “Reef Rangers” naturalist camp adventures. The boys came back each day showcasing their creations like tiny little proud CEOs.

Poolside Parent Perks: Champagne & Frozen Espresso Martinis

When the littles were wrestling around the lazy river, we hung out in the connected hot tub. Picture this: Champagne button: fancy moms press to summon bubbly without even leaving the water Frozen espresso martinis: because mama needs caffeine and chill

Evening Ritual: Sabrage Ceremony

Every. single. night. there was an elegant champagne sabering ceremony—sabers slicing corks off bottles in slow-motion style. Felt so grown-up classy, I half-expected someone to burst into opera. Definitely catapulted this from “family resort” to “luxury staycation” worthy of a glossy magazine.

Florence Family Travel Guide: Wine Windows, Gelato, and Tuscan Magic

Florence is one of those cities that feels like a living, breathing work of art. It’s where Renaissance masterpieces meet cozy trattorias and where every cobblestone street seems to whisper a story. I have to add that Florence was my favorite city of our entire trip!...

A Quick Stop in Pisa, Italy

Sometimes, the best memories are the unplanned ones. During our family adventure through Italy, we made a super last-minute decision to swing by Pisa on our way from Cinque Terre to Florence. I’ll be honest, Pisa wasn’t at the top of our Italy itinerary, and we...
