Confession time! I’ve never been into the super spooky decorations that come with Halloween. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of haunted houses and seeing the creative yet creepy decorations, but I’d rather not scare myself in my own home every night. Yes, I will jump at that fake spider every single night, when they possess extra creep vibes when the sun goes down.
Since my two youngest boys are getting older, they’ve taught me that this holiday is meant for spooky and creepy décor, and they almost demand it at this point. “More creepy stuff!” They tell me and I oblige because after all, this is the only time black roses, spiders, skeletons, and cauldrons are welcome. It’s called the spooky season for a reason.
To make this year’s creepy tablescape, I looked for inspiration at Target, Homegoods, and Amazon. Originally I was going to go all mad scientist and thought about a “killer” black and red theme, but right there at the entrance of my Target, sat some beautiful deep purple mums. I immediately went to black and purple, with a pop of gold!
