Magical Eats You Must Try at Magic Kingdom

You’ve heard this a thousand times, but Disney World just may be the happiest place on earth. For the kids, yes. For the adult’s wallet, No. For our taste buds, definitely yes!

The kids love meeting the characters and riding magical rides, while the adults love eating all the magical foods! Food is magical when you’re adult. If I have to stand through a two-hour line to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train where fastpasses are almost non existent, than you betcha I will be eating one, two, or three of the items on this list before we leave the park! It’s all a kid/parent balance and everyone leaves the park skipping with smiles, holding $12 balloons!

My husband was telling me how we should start packing lunches for  Disney, or maybe packing a cooler and coming to the parking lot to eat. Of course, we bring our own snacks in the park, but I gave him the side-eye look while eating my Dole Whip over Pineapple Upside Down Cake and said “That sounds great and all, but the food is why I come to theme parks.” It’s a part of the experience for me!
I also used to be cool and love roller coasters. Now I’m more of a “Soooo, when was this ride last inspected?” type of person walking around Disney looking at the food lines instead of the ride lines.
I’m not kidding you when I tell you that I send my husband with the kid’s on rides and the next time they see me I have two Mickey pretzels in one hand and a half eaten Mickey Ice Cream Bar in the other. Don’t worry, I share.

I hope you try one, two, or all of these delicious treats during your next trip to the Magic Kingdom. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack, sweet treat, or an ultimate foodie meal, I’ve got it covered!

  1. Fruit & Nutella Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow Inn in Liberty Square is what food dreams are made of. I have no tips on how to eat this, other than just dive in!

  2. Sweet & Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. Another delicious eat from Sleepy Hollow Inn and maybe the best sandwich in the entire park! (From what I hear!) *Sleepy Hollow Inn also offers funnel cakes.
  3. Buffalo Chicken Hot Dog from Casey’s Corner caught the eye of my husband last time we were at the parks. TIP: A regular sized hot dog at Casey’s Corner is $10, so we buy the foot-long hot dog for an extra $2 and split it between the kids.

  4. Pineapple Dole Whip may be the most refreshing treat at theme parks.Plus, it’s dairy free, gluten free, and vegan! You’ll find 3 different versions of this treat at Aloha Isle right next to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

  5. Rose Gold Minnie Cupcakes are now available at Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and in the Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom. Another Rose Gold has heart eyes from me!

  6. Waffle Fries from Golden Oak Post located in Frontierland. These loaded fries come in four different varieties. Tex Mex, BLT Ranch, Brown Gravy and Cheddar, and Barbecue Pork.

  7. Mickey Mouse Soft Pretzels make for a quick and filling snack to get your through the ride lines before lunch time. They’re also vegan and super cute! I believe these pretzels are served throughout the park, but I always get them at a small stand right outside of the Dumbo ride. *TIP: The popcorn is also vegan since they use a dairy-free butter flavoring!
  8. Cheshire Cat Tails from Cheshire Cafe. I stumbled upon these when I went to do some research on something called Gourmet Cupcake Cups. The cupcake cups are no longer sold, but these gooey chocolate filled “cat tails” are! **TIP: Do not buy the coffee at this cafe.

  9. Pecos Bill Toppings Bar! I think overall, Pecos Bill is where you’ll get the most bang-for-your-buck as far as eats go at Magic Kingdom. The portions are generous and not too badly priced. TIP: Order a side of tortilla chips and load them up at the toppings bar (there’s guac!!) , creating your own nachos for under $5.00. I told you it’s magical!
  10. Greek Loaded Tots from Friars Nook. Check out the seasonal menu offerings at Friars Nook. Currently (February 2018) they are offering 3 versions of loaded Tator Tots.

  11. Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar is like the initiation food at Disney World. Total Classic and a perfect night cap while walking out of the parks.

**All Disney Restaurants have an allergy menu upon request with gluten free, dairy free, and/or vegan options.
I’ve heard Pinocchio Village House has three vegan pizza options.
Peco Bills in Frontierland is very accommodating with their rice bowls, veggies, and DIY toppings bar.

On our last trip to Magic Kingdom, I enjoyed the vegetarian chili (has some spice!) and french fries from Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square. This meal could easily be vegan without the crackers that accompanied the chili.

Happy magical eating friends!
